Product Details

whipp’s lotion brings together deep-sea water and plant oils, with a focus on the quality of both and how they work together.

Water
While exploring the balance of water and oil in skincare, we discovered deep-sea water from Kumejima, Okinawa. This exceptionally pure water has circulated in the deep ocean for around 2,000 years. It has five notable characteristics: stable low temperatures, purity, a balanced mineral content, maturity and nutrient richness.

Its composition is very close to that of human body fluids, which has earned it the name ‘Mother Water’. This water is combined with carefully chosen oils, with Japanese craftsmanship bringing the ingredients together.

Oils
whipp’s JOCA-certified*1 organic skincare uses organic and sustainable ingredients, drawing on plants from Japan and around the world.

Alongside shikuwasa and rice bran, which are also attracting attention as upcycled ingredients, the range includes yuzu, tea seeds, wild sesame, prickly pear cactus and baobab. Methods such as cold pressing are used to extract high-purity oils while placing less stress on the raw ingredients.

Shikuwasa seed oil contains linoleic acid, oleic acid and palmitic acid, which help moisturise the skin and support its barrier function. Rice bran oil is rich in γ-oryzanol*2, a component unique to rice bran that helps prevent moisture loss and keep skin hydrated.

Other ingredients with moisturising and emollient properties include camellia from Toshima, a remote island off Tokyo; sunflowers grown without pesticides on fallow farmland in Manno, south-western Kagawa; and vetiver from Yame in Fukuoka, Lohb’s home region. Wild sesame and prickly pear cactus are also among the ingredients used in whipp’s own blends.

How it moisturises

Shake the bottle well before use. This mixes the water and oils together, leaving it hydrated, soft and supple.

Made with deep-sea water from Kumejima, 17 plant oils and six plant extracts, the lotion brings together a range of ingredients from nature in one bottle.

It moisturises the skin with ingredients derived from nature.

The packaging is made from kome-kami, a paper material that uses rice no longer suitable for eating.

Fragrance

A refreshing citrus scent with a hint of sweetness and floral notes.

Fresh grapefruit and bergamot open the fragrance, with the bergamot bringing a mix of sweetness and bitterness. Powdery lily, sweet jasmine and rose follow, coming together in an elegant floral scent.

Ambrette seed adds a comforting note beneath the freshness, while cedarwood brings a warm, gentle woody scent.

1. Use after cleansing your face in the morning and evening.
2. Shake well before use to ensure the oil and lotion layers are thoroughly mixed.
3. Hold the bottle about 20 cm away from your face, close your eyes and mouth, and spray over your entire face.

Can be stored for up to 3 years unopened.
Once opened, use within 6 months.

1. Pay close attention to your skin while using this product. If you experience any of the following reactions, please discontinue use. If there are any symptoms, please consult with a dermatologist.
(1) Redness, swelling, itching, irritation, loss of skin colour (such as white patches), darkening or any other unusual reaction during use.
(2) Any of these reactions after the skin has been exposed to direct sunlight.
2. Do not use on areas with cuts, swelling, rashes or other skin abnormalities.
3. Keep away from direct sunlight and high temperatures. Close the cap securely after opening.

As this product contains naturally derived ingredients, water may come out during the first few pumps. This does not affect the product's quality.

In general, we ship via EMS, but we also offer FedEx shipping for customers in the United States of America.

Shipping fees are calculated based on the combined weight of the products and shipping box. Shipping fees will be displayed at checkout in your selected currency.

When a package is shipped outside of Japan, it undergoes customs inspection in the destination country and may be subject to taxes or duties depending on local regulations. Shipping Timeframe:
All orders are processed within 2–3 business days of receipt, and we typically aim to ship orders within one week.
Our warehouse operates Monday through Friday during standard business hours (Japan Standard Time), excluding Japanese national holidays, during which the warehouse will be closed. In these instances, we take every step possible to minimize shipping delays.
Packages are not shipped from our warehouse on weekends or Japanese national holidays.
