Traditional Marseille Soap Manufacturing Method

La Corvette Marseille soap is made using the traditional kettle-cooking method. It adheres to strict standards dating back over 300 years, including the requirement to contain at least "72%" natural plant oils.

In large cauldrons called chaudrons, vegetable oils react with caustic soda (alkaline solution) over several days of heating to undergo saponification. This time-honored process creates a pure soap base. The soap master meticulously checks the soap's progress at every stage, preserving the traditional method and its quality for the modern era.

The UPSM (Union of Marseille Soap Professionals) was founded to protect authentic Savon de Marseille from imitations.

Only products that adhere to geographical roots, traditional methods, and strict standards are granted the approval logo, guaranteeing their authenticity as genuine Marseille soap.

Marseille soap holds ECOCERT COSMOS NATURAL certification, the globally recognized standard for natural cosmetics.
