Hydrophil

Hydrophil is an innovative and sustainable hygiene product brand founded by friends Wanja and Christoph, originally from Hamburg, Germany. The idea for Hydrophil originated during a bike tour in Hamburg and from a blog about water, with the ultimate goal of making all bathroom products sustainable.

Our sustainable, highly hydrophilic toothbrushes are widely recognized as the first Climate-Neutral toothbrushes in Europe. Until now, climate neutrality hasn't been considered a major issue in the oral and hygiene sectors. However, we believe it's important to conserve global resources through our products. We also produce all our products in a water-neutral, vegan, and fair manner. Our goal is to make bathrooms completely sustainable.

Water-Neutral
We conserve as much water as possible when manufacturing our products. The natural ingredients we use grow with little to no artificial irrigation and do not pollute drinking water or groundwater.

Vegan
We manufacture our products using plant-based ingredients. We believe it is important that we do not test on animals or use animal-derived ingredients.

Fair Trade
Every job deserves fair compensation. We are absolutely convinced of this. To ensure this, we pay close attention to the value-added chain. -

What is Climate-Neutral?
Only one-third of all households in India have access to clean drinking water. This allows diseases such as cholera and typhoid fever to spread, killing 2 million children in India every year. The project we support in Odisha, India, uses chlorine to purify water, making it accessible through deliveries and village shops. Thus, residents of Odisha have access to clean drinking water. At the same time, there is no need to boil water, saving CO2 emissions and preventing local deforestation.
