About Yellow Illite

Yellow Illite is a naturally occurring clay found in surface-level hills and contains volcanic ash, space dust, and various minerals. It is especially rich in iron oxide and iron hydroxide, which give the clay its characteristic yellow hue.

In nature, Yellow Illite deposits are often located near Red Illite sources, and both share similar mineral compositions.

In terms of performance, if Green Illite is rated at 10, Yellow Illite is about an 8—offering effective cleansing while being slightly milder.

Yellow Illite has a 4-layered structure with fixed interlayer spacing, which contributes to its stable properties. It can be used together with Green Illite for a complementary effect.
