Wild Bitter Orange Flower Water
This natural neroli water is made from carefully selected flowers collected from bitter orange (Citrus sour) trees that grow wild in Morocco, and then steam distilled using traditional methods. Regular flower water is a by-product obtained during the process of extracting essential oils, but at en d'autres thermes, we distill 1kg of bitter orange flowers per liter just to make our neroli water, so it is rich in neroli essential oil. It has a floral sweetness with a hint of citrus sweetness and sourness.
What's neroli?
This is an essential oil obtained by steam distillation of bitter orange flowers, and is as expensive as rose. It is said to have been named after Anna Maria, Duchess of Nerola, Italy, who used it in the 17th century.
