① Prepare a non-flammable container, such as an ashtray or incense dish.
② Hold 1–2 sage leaves in your hand and light the tip.
③ As soon as it catches fire, wave it to extinguish the flame, then hold it with the flame facing downward. (Placing it on a dish or similar surface will cause it to go out easily.)
④ Purify the space by allowing the smoke to circulate throughout the room. (If the flame goes out easily, hold the stem in your hand while using it. Placing it on a dish or similar surface restricts oxygen circulation, causing it to go out more easily.)
⑤ Once the purification is complete, pour water over the sage ashes to extinguish them completely.
[How to Purify a Room] Allow the smoke to spread throughout the entire room to purify the space.
[How to Purify Accessories] Hold your accessories in your hand and pass them through the smoke. Purification takes about 1 to 2 minutes.
