ARGOL

ARGOL® ESSENZA BALSAMICA is a plant-based preparation whose active ingredients are selected essential oils extracted from plants and menthol isolated from peppermint oil. It was formulated according to the pharmacopoeial descriptions of the Carmelite Essence — a herbal medicine used from 1611 to the present day — as outlined in the *Handbuch der Pharmazeutischen Praxis*, Berlin, 1880. It contains the ingredients of the Carmelite Essence, as well as additional essential oils of thyme, mint, and menthol.

This formulation complies with the principles of modern phytotherapy for infectious diseases, as confirmed by clinical and outpatient studies, and contains: three essential oils from a group of five known to have the strongest antimicrobial activity — namely, cinnamon, clove, and thyme oils — as well as three essential oils whose effects manifest at the site of microbial infection — namely, lemon, peppermint, and coriander oils - as well as two oils and an isolated ingredient with supportive, generally calming, antispasmodic, and mildly topical anesthetic effects: lemon balm, nutmeg, and natural menthol. Furthermore, combining thyme oil with lemon oil enhances their antimicrobial activity in the mixture.

Thanks to these ingredients, ARGOL® ESSENZA BALSAMICA is used as an adjunctive treatment with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antiseptic effects in acute and chronic upper respiratory tract conditions.
