This decaffeinated brown rice tea (genmaicha) is a blend of exceptionally rare domestic organic brown rice and green tea from Shizuoka Prefecture.
No chemicals are used—over 90% of the caffeine is removed using carbon dioxide, compared to sencha from the same tea farm in Shizuoka.
It can be safely enjoyed by pregnant women, those who are breastfeeding, and anyone concerned about caffeine.

1) Made with 100% Shizuoka green tea
This tea is made using the deep steaming method, from tea leaves grown in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
The deep steaming process was featured on a national TV program in January 2011 and received widespread acclaim. Unlike standard steaming (20–30 seconds), Shizuoka deep steamed tea is steamed for 40 to 60 seconds—about twice as long.
The extended steaming time makes the tea leaves finer, which, according to the program, is beneficial to health, as the broken fibers release more of the tea's natural nutrients into the brew.
2) Safe decaffeinated processing
Caffeine is removed using a chemical-free method called supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. This technique, commonly used to extract natural ingredients from food, selectively removes caffeine while preserving the tea's original flavor.
